Sundays Defined

If this isn't weekend living, what, I ask you, is?

This one wasn't even today, but you can't check my date stamp and it's just too dang cute not to share. (Note Elliott showing his little brother how to open his mouth. He really does do a good job -- if only for a few bites -- and Patrick LOVES the undivided attention from his idol.)

Climb Every Mountain

Erie, PA might not be the sunniest spot for Easter weekend, but how many chances does Elliott have to scale a mountain like this in Columbus?

If you don't recognize the surroundings, this mountain in front of Grammy and Grandpa's house forms when snowplows run out of places to dump Erie's spring precipitation.
Elliott was so enthralled with his new accomplishment, he proudly declared that he didn't need a break. He'd sleep in the snow. (After a brief battle, he came down and inside for dinner.)

Celebrating Sainthood

Young Patrick has been notified of his Sainthood today.

However, the joy faded when I told him March 17 is the one day I'll actually allow people to call him "Patty."

Meanwhile, Elliott was intrigued with the concept of declaring "St. Elliott's Day" and thought he should probably get (and keep) the hat on for luck.

The Big 3-0

On Tuesday, Pete turned 30! (And, on Wednesday, my Dad turned 35. 36 tops.)

Luckily, Elliott loves a celebration!

Elliott sang "Happy Birthday" and the whole Polish song afterward that I won't even attempt to spell...

If you didn't get a chance to see the birthday card I tried to pass around Columbus for signatures, here are the images from the front. (Click to enlarge!)

Both boys continue to fight (as Elliott says) "the Coughs, the Sneezes and the Yawnies." Still, I'm a mother with a camera, so I tried (uh-gain) to get a brotherly love photo or two.

I swear this isn't a weather blog...

If you haven't seen news reports, this snow storm was a record-breaker for Columbus. Twenty inches! (My apologies to East coast friends and family. I know you're reading from the deep end of a puddle.)

Snow is up to the bottom of the swings and nearly got to the top of the deck railing.

The tunnel on the deck so the dogs can get out and drags their stomachs through the snow.

Spring!

If you have an Erie zip code, I know you're unimpressed. But this blizzard-warning day is a memorable one for Columbus, Ohio! They're calling for 10-14 inches before it tapers off this evening, but the high winds make any shoveling progress difficult!

Pete and a long, uphill battle

Neighbor Payton came over to say "hi."

What more could you ask for? Hot chocolate reward by straw!
Meanwhile, Patrick's fighting off some nasty virus -- literally sleeping 22 of the past 24 hours! Scary as his heavy eyelids look, a working mother could get used to a sleep schedule like this!!!
