Making Up for the Month

If you've been checking in during the month of June, you've been disappointed for some time. Sorry about the unplanned blogger break... Here's an update and more photos of those silly Scully boys than you probably ever wanted, even if they were delivered in regular intervals!

We've endured some wacky weather (again? still?) this month, but the lure of outside remains strong no matter what.

One proud Dad rang in Father's Day with his adoring fans (and a massage. Yes, I think he's hooked.)

The boys displayed love as only brothers can. Here's Elliott squeezing the life out of his little brother:

And Patrick, returning the favor with the ever-popular Pinch Hug:

At some point the demon that once took over Elliott as he happily spread red icing all over his grandparents' white dining room stopped by to visit Patrick.

Oh, wait. Hide the demon! Pose for an angel photo!!

After Mama returned from her "work trip" in California (Delta Gamma's biennial Convention in Palm Desert -- the one with 120-degree heat!), we celebrated Elliott's third birthday! Thanks to an idea from my sneaky grandmother (GiGi to the boys), we celebrated June 22nd on June 23rd -- when Mama was off the plane and could (sort of) stay awake.

Patrick (who, I promise, does not have deformed feet but apparently likes to try balancing on his toes [insert ballerina predictions here]) is still CLOSE but not yet walking on his own.

A thoughtful, reflective three-year-old:

Love this shot! We had just finished singing; he had blown out the candles. What else is left? Sink your fork in and get to work... one bite at a time.

Does this guy know how to party or what??!

Since our loving and loyal dog (Tragus, the black-and-white one) decided to escape through a broken spot in the fence and roam the neighborhood for a few hours before Pete finally found her, we didn't get to play with Elliott's b-day gifts until the next day. His fav: the sprinkler -- fun and thirst-quenching!

Seriously. Go buy this sprinkler! Here's Elliott and neighbor Payton enjoying the sprint through all the little dancing hoses:

Patrick was as still and serious as I've ever seen him, getting sprinkled but keeping a good and safe distance.

After some bad midnight storms (the first time we've had to wake the boys and go to the basement because of the tornado sirens and impending threat), there was quite a bit of rain water to play with. Here are my eternal optimists, making lemonade out of lemons:

And surprise! My best bud Colette made a sneak attack trip from Ireland, so we planned a quick Denison roommate reunion! Lotta ovaries twitching* in this photo (but I promise mine are happily resting).

*To clarify: Stacie introduced us to her adorable bundle Aaron, while -- ta-da! -- Colette AND Kelly announced they're both pregnant AND practically sharing a due date!!!
